Abstract
Dietary proteins influence the labile protein stores of the animal tissues and in the process enzyme systems are not spared. Methods based on the capacity of different proteins to replenish the liver protein stores have been standardized and much ground has been covered during the past years. Major emphasis was laid upon the changes in the amount of liver protein, since the quantity of this tissue component appeared to offer the most appropriate estimate of the functionally effective liver mass.
